About Padraic Mulholland

Coming from a background of Theatre and Education I have had the opportunity to study movement in many of its forms: Dance, Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong.

I first experienced the Feldenkrais Method in 2012.

From the very beginning I felt that that this method provided a unique and particularly helpful framework for understanding and working with human development.

In short, it felt like a kind of homecoming.

In 2017 I enrolled in the four year International Training Programme at the Feldenkrais Institut Wien (Educational Director: Donna Ray) and successfully graduated in January 2021.

In 2018 I was certified to teach Awareness Through Movement lessons and since then l have been teaching classes in Dublin, Sligo and Donegal as well as online.

I see clients for individual sessions Dublin.

Feedback from clients:

I found the Feldenkrais classes to be both extremely helpful and relaxing. - Barbara, Dublin.

I found these classes surprising and very relaxing - the method offers a way in which to connect with the body at a deeper level - to more properly understand tension and movement. - Ursula, London.

If you are looking for a class that helps you create more awareness about how your body feels and create more brain plasticity in a relaxing gentle way you can find it with Padraic’s online and in person Feldenkrais classes. I am not a fitness fanatic, but I do like to move my body. I feel that in Padraic’s class I don’t need to push myself. I relax into a holistic experience of nurturing my body. It feels like body movement meditation. The process allows me to understand how I have organised the patterns of my body and unfurl stiffness. The gentle leading voice of Padraic helps my body relax and release tensions easily. It’s a supportive way to value myself.

These Feldenkrais sessions with Padraic help me to come home to myself. My nervous system gets nourished  by joining up the disconnected parts that are unknown to myself with kindness, softness and love. - Sherrie, Donegal.

I attended Feldenkrais with Padraic, online, during 2020. For me , the thing I appreciated most was the gentleness of the practice and the encouragement to do as much of the activities as you felt were right for you. It was very different to anything else I have done, in the sense that there was no pressure to do things the 'right' way, which in a strange way helped me to  complete the movements more fully each week! Padraic is very skilled at teaching using this approach. It worked really well online for me - I felt more comfortable at home and enjoyed the short chats as we started and finished. I highly recommend trying it out! - Joan, Dublin

I was diagnosed with a life limiting condition in 2019 and this condition has many symptoms, including loss of energy and at times limited movement. I came to Padraic’s Awareness Through Movement teachings and classes the year I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and his classes and method of teaching, continues to be a lifeline and a great support, in the journey back to wellbeing and wellness. There are some days when I don't have the energy to do the movements and on those days I just 'listen' and that is enough! Even in the listening lies the subtle healing power for body, spirit and mind. Regardless of health status or levels of fitness, Awareness Through Movement is a gentle wholesome way to  nurture and support wellbeing and wellness.  Padraic is a 'gifted' teacher, his gentleness, compassion and kindness comes through in all his classes.
If  you have never tried it maybe give it a go. The subtle workings of Feldenkrais reaches to places 'within' you can't even imagine. I call it an awakening or a meditation for the body, not too unlike a meditation for the mind.- Paula, Sligo.

I love hearing the words ‘ less is more ‘ during the Feldenkrais class. It allows me to relax and be aware rather than caught in the trap of needing to achieve more. - Mary, Sligo.

I really enjoy Padraic’s classes - the emphasis in Feldenkrais on the skeleton rather than muscles is novel (to me) and great for rebalancing. I always feel a sense of equilibrium after a class. Padraic’s calm and measured tone has the added benefit of infusing the classes with mindfulness qualities. - Kaye, London.
